Penance Service

Tuesday, April 15th*

*Last Chance for confession before Easter

A Penance Service is a form of Sacramental Confession. It includes a Scripture reading and a brief exhortation by a priest. An examination of conscience follows this, and the community prays the Act of Contrition together. After the communal part of the ceremony, those present will individually confess their sins to a priest and receive absolution and penance.

Seven Churches Pilgrimage 

We will start the Seven Churches Pilgrimage following the Mass of the Lord's Supper on Thursday, April 17th. Please click below for more information and to RSVP.
St. Alphonsus and St. Alexis Churches will remain open until midnight, on Holy Thursday, for anyone unable to attend the pilgrimage but who would like to spend quiet time in prayer.

The Passion of the Lord

Tenebrae Service
Tenebrae is Latin for 'darkness' and involves the chanting of psalms and readings from both the Old and New Testaments. The service also includes the gradual extinguishing of candles, culminating in a 'loud noise' that occurs in total darkness near the end of the service.
